Farmers in Yei County are getting extra seeds and tools in order to fight hunger and strengthen the economy of the county.
Edimon Gogo is Assistant Commissioner for Agriculture in Yei County. He told Easter Radio that his department is giving out maize, simsim, cow peas and vegetables seeds.Mr.Gogo added that the office is also providing farmers with pangas, sickles, hoes and other tools inYei’s five payams.
He urged farmers to work hard in order to avoid hunger in the region besides providing food for their families.
The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) provided the seeds and tools for distribution.
