A Darfur rebel movement released yesterday a number of prisoners through an humanitarian agency.
Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) senior official al-Tahir al-Feki told Reuters the rebels freed 53 prisoners of war to the Red Crescent and 23 of them were wounded.He added that JEM handed over another ten to tribal leaders.
The Red Crescent confirmed they received 44 prisoners from JEM on Sunday but did not give any further details.
