The 39 proposals to foster women’s finances cost 1.4 million US Dollars and the money comes from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund.
The projects selected are mostly in the field of agricultural production: food crops, animal husbandry, and poultry farming.
Other projects include bee keeping, tailoring, and trading and microcredit schemes.
The winning agencies, most of which are community based organizations and NGOs working with women will receive the money in the coming weeks.
The 39 winning projects were selected from 177 requests received in February and March.
