The Speaker of the South Sudan Parliament promised full cooperation with the Government of Southern Sudan during the inauguration of Salva Kiir Mayardit’s presidency.
Speaker James Wani Igga, who presided at the swearing in ceremony, congratulated Mr. Kiir for his landslide victory and promised full cooperation between the legislative and executive powers.Mr. Igga had also words of praise for Vice President Ali Osman Taha.
He considered him an historic figure and a statesman and recognised the role he played in the negotiations with Dr. John Garang the Mabior.
Mr. Igga also thanked the President Museveni from Uganda and former president Moi from Kenya for their support to the peace process in South Sudan.
