A spate of grenade explosions has ravaged Eastern Equatoria state, killing one and wounding several others, in fortnight.
A police officer and another man were attacked on Thursday at Torit-Kapoeta road check-point, Emmanuel Radio reported.Pio Lorem, a police officer, died on the spot while the other victim is undergoing medical treatment at Torit Civil Hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the abdomen.
A nurse on duty at the hospital revealed that the victim was lacking blood following serious bleeding.
She added that the survivor had grenade fragments in his body and needed an immediate surgical intervention.
