News Agency of South Sudan (NASS) is expected to be operational by July after two years of planning.
Mustafa Biong Majak, Director General for Public Information in GoSS Ministry of Information and Broadcasting told SCR News that NASS was integrated in the 2010 budget and it will start working as soon as the technical positions are selected and the staff trained.Mr. Biong said NASS will cover south Sudan and neighbouring countries.
NASS will have offices across the ten states of South Sudan and in the neighbouring countries: Nairobi, Kampala, Addis Ababa, Asmara and Khartoum.
The agency will produce news and photographic services and operates through the internet and GoSS website.
