The members of Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly (SSLA) elected in April’s election take their oath of office tomorrow in Juba during the first session of the new legislature.
Sources at SSLA told SCR News that Southern Sudan chief of Justice presides over the swearing in ceremony while the eldest member of the house chairs the first seating.
The members are to elect the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and the Controller of the House.
The Controller of the House is in charge of discipline in the August House and liaises between the parliament and the government.
SPLM parliamentarians occupy 159 the SSLA’s 170 seats.
