LRA KILLS THREE IN WESTERN EQUATORIA NEW ATTACK

Three people were killed and another four admitted to Tambura hospital with serious injuries in two separate attacks by the Ugandan rebels in Western Equatoria state.

The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels killed three people in an ambush near Yambio, Miraya FM reported.

Two of the dead were senior officials from the State’s Ministry of Education.

The second attack took place in Nabaria, four miles from Tambura, and the LRA injured four people, abducted another eight, looted the local health centre and burned some houses.

The attack was confirmed by the spokesman for the commissioner of Tombura county, Mabenge Joseph Luka,.

He told Sudan Radio Service that it took place on Sunday at around 4 pm.

Mr. Mabenge said the Arrow Boys, a local vigilante group, fought off the rebels.

The Ugandan army arrived in Nabaria from the Central African Republic and is pursuing the rebels who are believed to be heading towards Wau in Western Bahr El-Ghazal state.
