The success of private schools in Basic Education Leaving Certificate depends on their organization and team work.
This is the opinion of John Wani Aliseo, the headmaster of St. Joseph Basic School that scored the best results in the exams in the State and is number one in the new ranking.Earlier this week Central Equatoria ministry of Education announced the results of Primary Leaving Certificate with five schools scored a 100 percent passing mark.
Mr. Wani told SCR News that his school performed best in the state because of better organization and team work involving the administration, teachers and parents.
Mr. Wani admitted that schools face some challenges like the lack of translated text books.
He explained that up to grade five the Government of South Sudan prepared a syllabus and the text books in English. Manuals for grade six to eight are in Arabic and come from Khartoum.
Mr. Wani said the private schools do not want to compete with public institutions but to work together to improve the general performance.
He called on all head teachers of various schools in the state to coordinate to get better results.
Out of 56 schools that had pupils seating for Basic School certificate, 36 obtained the passing percentage while 20 obtained over 50 percent failures.
Five catholic schools, headed by St Joseph and Usratuna, are among the top ten basic schools in Central Equatoria.
The best pupils were from Mahad Islamic School in Juba.
