A senior official in Central Equatoria government said discipline of pupils and teachers accounts for the better performance of private schools.
David Lowela is the Director General of the Central Equatoria ministry of Education state. He told SCR News that discipline is chief contributor for the better performance of the private basic schools in the state.Mr. Lowela said private schools pay teachers on time and control of their work and assiduity.
Earlier this week the ministry announced the results of the Basic School Leaving certificate with the private schools leading the results with a 70 percent pass average.
Mr. Lowela said employment of unqualified teachers in the public schools was behind the dramatic decline of results.
