Carter Center said the vote tabulation process in the Sudan was highly chaotic, non-transparent, and vulnerable to electoral manipulation.

The Center added in a statement released today that it was concerned about the accuracy of the preliminary results announced by the National Elections Commission (NEC).

The Carter Center urged the NEC to publish the results of individual polling stations as quickly as possible and to review the results, especially those based on manual tabulation.

It expressed great concern for the theft of computers and gubernatorial Results Forms from Central Equatoria State High Committee by unidentified armed security forces.

The Center noted serious concerns about election-related violence and intimidation in several states, including Northern Bahr al Ghazal, Unity, and Western Equatoria
