The World Bank said it had banned British publisher Macmillan from taking up any contact with the institution for six-years after the company admitted paying bribes to secure a contract to print school text books for South Sudan.

A statement from the Word Bank said that Macmillan admitted it made corrupt payments in the bidding process financed by the Multi Donors Trust Fund in southern Sudan, Reuters reported.

The statement added that the World Bank Group declared the company ineligible to be awarded any World Bank contracts for a period of six years.
