OPPOSITION BLOCK HOLDS CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS FUTURE

Four South Sudan parties formed a block and held a conference to map the future and the terms of their cooperation with the leading force in the region.

The leaders of the Union of Sudan African Parties, Sudan African National Union, United Democratic Sudan Forum Mainstream and South Sudan Democratic Forum met today with the press in Juba to share the results of their post-elections conference.

SSDF chairman, Martin Elia Lomoro was the spokesperson of the block. He said that the four parties supported the candidacy of Salva Kiir Mayardit and pledged to continue cooperating with him.

Dr. Lomoro added that the block is negotiating with the SPLM the terms of their cooperation.

Dr. Lomoro said the four parties are committed to have the referendum in time.

The leaders appealed for calm in South Sudan in order to prepare the popular consultation.
