Juba Commissioner appealed to the humanitarian organization operating in the county to assist the victims of yesterday’s floods near the Konyo Konyo market.
Heavy rains destroyed at least 20 houses and shops in Kator Payam after a bridge was blocked by rubbish and the waters inundated houses and shops.Dr. Pius Subek visited the affected area this morning and said the situation is bad because people lost houses and food.
He appealed to NGOs to assist the victims with food, sleeping material and tents.
Dr. Subek said he asked the director of Kator Payam to elaborate a report on the flood victims’ situation.
He added that although the county does not have many resources it will assist the victims the best it can.
