The percentages of the success achieved by the SPLM in the last elections prove the extent of fraud and rigging in the polls, an opposition leader said.
United Democratic Forum (UDF) leader, Peter Abdel-Raheman Sule, told SCR News that in a multiparty system, the opposition always wins a percentage of the vote that makes it credible in parliament.Mr. Sule noted that the election did not reflect a multi-party system of governance.
Mr. Sule added that the UDF does not intend to challenge the results in court because the judiciary is in favour of the SPLM and it would be a waste of money.
Mr. Sule mentioned that both the National Elections Commission and the SPLM have a share in the fraud and misconduct of the elections.
He added that the elections were not a significant step towards a democratic system but the beginning of a one-party rule.
Mr. Sule lost his bid for the Central Equatoria governorship to the SPLM candidate Clement Wani Konga.
