Heavy rains that fell over Juba this morning destroyed at least 20 houses and much property.
One of the victims told SCR News that some residents near Lobuliet stream lost houses and property during this morning’s flood.He urged the authorities to widen the newly build bridge on the road from Giada military Garrison to Konyokonyo market or move it to another place.
Another victim who spoke to SCR reporter said her children are on water and she have lost everything including the house.
She called on the authorities to come to their help.
The reporter talked with a police officer present at the site. He said the force called the constructors to provide graders to remove the garbage that blocked the bridge.
He added that the authorities should revise the bridge construction in order to avoid its blockage by rubbish on the waterline.
The flood that destroyed more than 20 houses was caused by the garbage that blocked the small bridge and the waters inundated the area.
