RUMBEK CHIEFS DISCUSS SECURITY ISSUES

Traditional chiefs met on Monday in Rumbek East County, Lakes State, to discuss disarmament, child abduction and cattle raiding among other security issues.

Rumbek East county commissioner David Marial told Sudan Radio Service that the chiefs reached a number of resolutions.

They decided to continue with disarmament for the young to stay in peace without guns in their hands.

They agreed to relocate cattle camps and to identify stolen cattle to be given back to their communities.

The chiefs agreed on the redeployment of SPLA forces in Paloch, Luel, Akuechok, Abingong and Atiriu,.areas identified as problematic, to protect the community.
