Alfred Ladu Gore, the independent Candidate for Central Equatoria State governor appealed for calm after the announcement that Clement Wani Konga won the seat.
On a telephone conversation with Bakhita Radio, Mr. Gore appealed to his supporters to stay calm and to restrain from any act of violence.Mr. Gore added he does not accept the final results issued by the National Elections Commission for the governorship of Central Equatoria.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal. Due to the heterogeneous realities of South Sudan, each station is rooted in its locality and broadcasts locally produced culture-sensitive programs in the languages which are understood by the local people. For its outreach, CRN has a potential audience of about seven million people, considering the influx of returnees to South Sudan after the Sudan Population Census 2008.
