Elections officials appealed for calm while waiting for the final results that could be announced today or take some time.
Anthony Arike Lowly is the acting chairman of Southern Sudan High Elections Committee. He told the press this morning in Juba that the final results might be announced soon.Mr. Arike said the governors for Unity, Warrap, and Northern and Western Bahr el Ghazal were announced already.
Mr. Arike blamed the delay on faulty computer software and networks together with lack of expert operators.
Mr. Arike urged the public not to panic but wait patiently until all results to be made public.
He added NEC is working out solutions to speed up the process.
