The Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) urged citizens to remain peaceful before and after the display of the elections results.
The SCC released this afternoon in Juba a statement appealing for peace.The document says any grievances and disputes should be solved through legal channels.
The head of the Inter-church committee, Reverent Sebit Ali Along, read the join statement of the church leaders.
The statement called on the people to remain united while waiting the outcome of the elections.
It added that winners must be prudent and serve the people.
The statement asked losers to accept defeat and wait their chance to come.
