The short rains that fell in Juba in the previous days have increased acute diarrhoea and malaria cases in town.
Alfred Lupoya, a clinic medical officer and former World Health Organization official, told SCR News that last week over 60 cases of acute diarrhoea and over 200 of malaria were recorded.Dr. Lupoya noted that people must control mosquitoes breeding in order to control malaria by drying stagnant waters near houses.
The medical officer advised residents to dispose of human waste in toilets or latrines to prevent further spread of acute diarrhoea cases.
