An official at the National Elections Commission said the results from North Sudan states will be made public today.
NEC member al-Hady Mohamed Ahmed told reporters yesterday in Khartoum that all the results of the elections in 15 northern states will be announced today.Mr. Ahmed added that final results for the presidency and Southern Sudan will be ready by early next week.
The NEC official explained that the results for presidential elections would be announced when results of all the polling stations across the country are submitted to the NEC.
Mr. Ahmed said there was no problem with counting in Southern Sudan but problems of communication due to the rain which hinders movement on roads.
Partial results released by NEC yesterday at the levels of state governors and national and state legislative bodies, show the NCP has a clear lead.
