The ministry of Education in Central Equatoria state suspended classes since Monday to wait for the results of the elections concluded last Thursday.
Director General David Lowela Ladu told SCR News that his ministry delayed the opening of classes in all schools in the state to honour the forthcoming results of the elections. The results were to be announced yesterday but failed due to logistics problems and delays in the manual counting in some centres.
Mr. Lowela said students want to know the results of these elections because it is the first of the kind in their lives.
He added that the announcement of the results will follow the peaceful trend of the elections.
Mr. Lowela said the administration will device ways to cover for lost classes.
The Director General announced that the classes may resume on Monday.
