JUBA PRAYS FOR PEACEFUL ELECTION RESULTS

The Sudan Council of Churches conducted yesterday an ecumenical prayer for peaceful reception of elections results.

The prayer took place at All Saints Cathedral was attended by a good number of people, Bakhita Radio reported.

Christian and Muslim religious leaders raised prayers to God asking for the gift of peace and called on people to remain calm during the waiting period as the votes are counted and announcement is made.

Juba citizens have been conducting peace prayers since the beginning of the electoral process.

Many have reaffirmed their desire no to return to war and protect peace at all cost.
