Poor access to telephone networks and lack of roads has delayed the release of election results in some areas of South Sudan.
Talking to SCR News, Jersa Kide Barnaba, Southern Sudan High Elections Committee spokesperson, said most centers have completed the counting.Mr. Kide added that some areas are not able to communicate the final results to the State High Committee due to lack of telephone links.
Ms. Kide said the elections materials will be retrieved by air tomorrow with the help of UNMIS helicopters.
She noted that states like Eastern Equatoria and Western Equatoria come first among the areas that are not accessible by road.
