The counting of votes started this morning in the polling stations of Juba without any problems reported.
Ms. Jersa Kide Barsaba, spokesperson of the Southern Sudan High Elections Committee, told SCR News that she visited a polling station in Munuki Payam.She added that the process of counting was regular, and the ballot box of the executive was opened in front of the accredited agents and observers.
SCR News reporter went to visit other polling stations around Juba. The counting was progressing well, without any problem.
Joseph Lado, head of the Polling station n. 20 in Konyo Konyo said that counting had started at 8.00 AM and by 12 they were completing the counting of votes in box for executive positions.
Mussa Ali Abubakar, accredited agent for Southern Sudan Democratic Forum, said all was progressing well. The polling station had just completed the counting of the ballots for the President of the Republic and was counting the ballots for the President of Southern Sudan.
The counting has progressed without any problem during the first day.
