Lam Akol’s claim that SPLA soldiers killed his supporters is untrue and baseless, said Dr. Anne Itto.
The Sudan Tribune website reported this week that two of Mr. Akol’s supporters were killed by SPLA soldiers at the command of the SPLM.Addressing the press last evening, Dr. Itto said the claim has been investigated and results show that it was a misunderstanding between some groups.
She added that there were no death reports and the injured were not SPLM-DC supporters.
Dr. Itto said her party liberated the south and can not be connected to atrocities.
She called upon the media to be vigilant and impartial while reporting news attach to security.
