Several voters in Kapoeta South County have complained over the way elections are being conducted.

Citizens raised concerns with Emmanuel Radio reporters saying polling officials do not abide by the code of their duty.

Nagie Lokale said the exercise is not free and fair in Kapoeta as she expected.

Ms. Nagie explained that the polling station officials rush to tick the ballot papers on the candidates of their interests without asking voters.

She says the rule of secret voting is not observed at the polling stations at all in Kapoeta South County.

Another voter, Ilog Marta, said though many voters do not know the voting process, the polling officers take advantage of illiteracy of voters.

Other voters who travelled from Juba and Torit to participate in the first democratic elections in their home villages have regrets, saying they wasted money on transport while not given the chance to vote.
