Hundreds of men and women at different polling stations in Nuba Mountains went to cast their votes despite great confusion.

Serbule, Kumu Tejet, Amdrafi, and Gidel centres were visited by Voice of Peace Radio staff.

The chairperson of Gidel polling centre, Ramadan Ali, said many people were yesterday present in the polling station since early morning.

Mr. Ali added they were unable to cast their vote due to several factors: errors in the voter lists, registers that did not correspond with the area; people did not know how to vote, and the limited time for voting.

He expressed concern that these factors have prevented a lot of people from voting.

Mr. Ali said the electoral law has been respected and pregnant women, disabled and elderly were allowed to cast their votes first.

The polling centres closed at 6:00 p.m. leaving out a great number of people to cast their votes, the next day.
