SLOW VOTING NO SURPRISE

Civil Educator Ephraim Wani Peter is not surprised about the slowlyness of the voting exercise.

Mr. Wani told SCR News that he travelled around South Sudan for months to educate the population on the process.
But he points out that it is not only a complicated exercise but was also never tested elsewhere.

Mr Wani helped his 80 year old mother to vote.

She had no problems casting her ballot because her son had done mock elections for days in his house

Mr. Wani disagrees with people who doubt the necessity of the elections so close to the referendum.

According to the civil educator a democratic government must be in place before the referendum will be held next year.
