The first democratic elections in Sudan for the past 24 years find Southern Sudan still affected by a huge illiteracy rate.

Mr. Anthony Ariki Lowly, acting chairperson of the Southern Sudan High Elections Committee, expressed concern over their capacity to cast their vote.

The polling process may have some delays, considering that illiterate voters will seek assistance.
