In an effort to maintain security during the elections, the South Sudan Police services SSPS will deploy at least four police men per polling station.
Addressing the press this morning, Jackson Elia, SSPS spokesperson said it is the priority of the police to provide security during the elections up to the declaration of the results.
He affirmed that a series of training have been conducted with the police to ensure that they are capable to maintain security and order during the elections.
He called upon voters to turn up for elections without fear and urged the public to join the police forces in maintaining security by reporting any security-related issues that may arise .
He noted that it is the responsibility of the community together with the police to ensure the credibility of the elections
