In Rumbek the prisoners who registered to vote while in prison will be allowed to cast their ballots in the forthcoming elections, while those who registered to vote elsewhere will miss out.

Gabriel Ciek, the president of Lakes State High Elections Committee, told Good News Radio that the prisoners will cast their votes inside the prison walls.

Earlier, Elijah Majak, the director of Rumbek Central Prison, told Good News Radio that he was waiting for directives from the National Elections Committee about the participation of the inmates in the elections scheduled in two days time.
Mr. Majak said that all the prisoners are eligible voters.

Rumbek Central prison has some 400 inmates, among them, five women.
