In an effort to achieve free, fair elections, New Sudanese Indigenous Non-Governmental Organizations (NESI)-Network, has trained over twenty members of the civil society in observing and monitoring elections.
Michael Bomi, a Civic Education Officer from the Institute for Promotion of Civil Society told SCR news that the workshop would equip the participants with knowledge in observing and monitoring.
He acknowledged that the polling process is not yet completely clear to every one despite civic education, especially the number of ballots that have to be cast.
Mr. Bimo further explained that the success of any election mainly hinges on transparency, accountability and credibility, noting that domestic election monitoring and observation remains critical in all these processes
