Egypt and South Sudan have been discussing problems marring electricity supply to Bor, Rumbek and Yambio.

The Egyptian consul general met this morning with the Director of southern Sudan Electricity Corporation (SSEC) to discuss power deals for Jonglei, Lakes and Western Equatoria capitals.

The Egyptian diplomat Moayad Edalai said he listened to the problems facing the already started projects.

Mr. Edalai added that his government would try to resolve the matter soon but he did not specify when the projects will be completed.

The Director General for SSEC, Joi Magot Chol, lamented that the contracting company Sabina is not committed to its duties.

He explained that the three power stations should be ready in eighteen months and they were not commissioned yet.

The people of the three states will suffer power cuts until the matter is solved between the sub-contractors and the Egyptian donors.
