Unknown raiders stole more than 400 cattle in Twic East county, Jonglei state, on Monday.
This was the third time such a big number of cattle were raided in Twic East County in a matter of weeks, Sudan Radio Service reported.Last month about 300 cattle were raided by an unknown armed group.
County authorities say they have been unable to get hold of the raiders.
The commissioner of Twic East County urged his counterparts in neighboring counties to ensure that all the cattle are returned to their owners.
The authorities have also instructed all civilians who are armed to be disarmed with immediate effect.
A source told SCR News that unknown gunmen thought to belong to the raiding party shot at an NGO car travelling in the area and as the occupiers took cover in the forest the raiders took their personal belongings together with computers.
