The ongoing Second Household Survey that kicked off last week aims at improving family health in South Sudan.
Dr. Olivia Lomoru from GoSS Ministry of Health is the executive director of the Second Household Survey. She told SCR News that the government and ministry have a key mandate to improve family health in South Sudan.She added that the survey helps the authorities to have a clear idea about the health situation in Southern Sudan and draw strategies improve it.
Dr. Lomoru said the survey will also focus on the prevalence of HIV and AIDS to enable the government to act positively against the pandemic and come up with strategies and approaches to target specific areas in the region.
The Second Household Survey is also expected to provide the necessary data for planning and improving family health.
The First Household Survey was conducted in 2006.
