Part of the ballot papers for the April elections have already arrived in Juba from Khartoum and South Africa to be distributed to the ten states ahead of the April 11 to 13 elections.

Addressing the civil society during an AU meeting, Southern Sudan High Elections Committee deputy chairperson, Anthony Ariki Lowli, said ballot papers for executive positions and part for the assemblies have already arrived in Juba and will be distributed to the states by air.

Mr. Ariki added that non sensitive materials like ballot boxes, stationeries and voting screens are transported by land under escort.

Mr. Ariki noted that the first priority is securing voting materials and security forces are deployed to guard them round-the-clock.

Mr. Ariki said the voting will take place on time, dismissing rumours bout the postponement of the elections.

He called upon voters to follow the elections regulations and contribute to an effective voting exercise.
