Police has arrested four young men suspected of stealing poles at Torit Market over the weekend to earn a living.

Eastern Equatoria State Police Commissioner, Col. Ben Banal, identified the suspects as John Lokine, Lojore Peter, Dominic Loboi and Arkangelo Loboi, Radio Emmanuel reported.

Col. Banal said the suspects claimed that they have taken to stealing the poles for sale in order to earn a living after failing to secure employment in Torit.

The Police chief added that the suspects stressed that they have since attempted to apply for jobs in the state government but without success.

Col. Banal said neighbours to the suspects have insisted that the young men should not be released on bail due to their irresistible tendency to stealing.

He added that the police would forward the young men to court for legal action.
