Juba Teaching Hospital yesterday graduated 45 nurses who completed the three-year certificate course.
Christo John Yugu is the Director of Administration for Juba Teaching Hospital Nursing School. He told SCR News that the institution graduated yesterday 45 students, the ninth batch coming out of that heath institution.Mr. Yugu said the school is performing very well in the final results of national nursing examination.
He added that in this year’s National Nursing Certificate Examinations, the Juba school ranked first across the Sudan with the highest score of 89 percent.
Mr. Yugu said the Nursing School faces some challenges like a standard nursing curriculum, lack of Arabic books and lecture halls.
He urged the concerned authority to provide an English course for teachers from the Arabic pattern so that they are able to teach in English the future language of the school.
Juba Teaching Hospital Nursing School was the major and only nursing school that gave training to nurses across southern Sudan during the civil war.
The Wau Catholic Health Teaching Institute started this year a four-year course for registered nurses.
