The Swedish government has donated 50 million US dollars to South Sudan and the biggest slice is expected to cater for health infrastructures.
Swedish minister for International Development Cooperation, Gunillia Carlssom, told the press this afternoon in Juba that the fund will assist in the building of physical infrastructures and targets the needs of mothers in child labour.Ms. Carlsson toured the Juba Teaching Hospital today to monitor the Sweden sponsored Midwifery Training School.
The Swedish minister noted that South Sudan has the highest rate of maternity deaths and therefore her government will ensure all possible means to reduce the rate by 2015.
The Swedish government has aided Sudan with 65 million US dollar annually since 2008 to cater for various projects.
