The National Elections Commission said it was postponing local elections by two months in South Kordofan state.
Salah Habib, a NEC official, told reporters on Monday that the elections for governor and the state legislative assembly of South Kordofan are deferred by 60 days, AFP reported.Mr. Habib did not give a reason for the postponement.
The delay in South Kordofan applies only to the elections for governor and to the local assembly.
