Ivory Coast and Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been named African Footballer of the Year while Algeria was awarded the title African Team of the Year.
Michael Essien and Samuel Eto’o were also shortlisted for the award, BBC reported.The award ceremony organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) took place yesterday in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
Drogba had already wan the award in 2006.
The last time that Drogba won the award, Essien and Eto’o were also the other two shortlisted players.
