Southern Sudanese will be able to cast their vote in the upcoming general elections at over 6500 voting centres across the region.
Jersa Kide Barsaba Amin is the coordinator between the Southern Sudan High Committee for elections and the states committees and government departments.She told SCR News that Southern Sudan will have 6687 voting centres while for the whole country they will be 19,637 polling stations.
She added that the number of voting centres in Southern Sudan may be adjusted.
Ms. Kide said the number of voting stations was proposed by the State Elections High committees and accepted by the National Elections Commission (NEC).
She added that the elections will take place during three days between April 11 and 13.
Ms. Kide said that so far there were no problems reported between parties in the electoral campaign.
She added the NEC put in place some guidelines to avoid political rallies at the same place and time and put some restrictions in language.
MS. Kide made these statements after taking part in a conference organized by the NEC in Khartoum to prepare the next elections phase.
