Cattle rustlers have killed two people, injured two others and parted with over 70 heads of cattle, in Budi County, Eastern Equatoria State, over the weekend.
Radio Emmanuel correspondent from Budi said the raiders killed the two people on the spot while they were ploughing their crop field at Mongori, two kilometres south of Chukudum.The assailants raided 13 bulls from the deceased farmers.
The two victims were identified as brothers Pan and Peter.
The assailants raided a total of 13 bulls and 62 cows during last week’s attacks.
In a separate attack in the some County, two people were seriously injured and hospitalized when cattle rustlers ambushed a mini-bus on the Saturday, about five kilometres before Chukudum on its way from Camp 15.
A school girl and the mini-bus driver were injured.
Budi County Commissioner, Fr. Maurice Loguti, confirmed the incidences.
He said it was regrettable to register cases of violence at a time when people need to unite for the common goal of developing South Sudan.
