A workshop on AIDS pretension organized by the Healing of Healers department of the Sudan Catholic Bishops Conference (SCBS) kicked off Wednesday evening in Rumbek, at the diocese’s guest House, Pan Door.

The facilitators of the workshop, Charles Wasike and Alphonse Mola of Education for Life Kenya, told Radio Good News that the event aims at empowering the participants to manage their lives better.

Mr. Mola added that the workshop initiates a process that should lead to behaviour change.

The 10-day long workshop will use the behaviour change process to bring about HIV and AIDS awareness among the 40 participants drawn from the different missions of Rumbek diocese.

The participants told Radio Good News that they expect to acquire knowledge and skills in order to be more involved in HIV and AIDs awareness to the members of their community.

The need for HIV and AIDs awareness in Sudan has been felt by many organizations and individuals, both local and international.
