Catholic Relief Service (CRS) started today a seven-day workshop in Juba to train Peace and Justice Commissions from the different dioceses on peace building.
Tom Purekal is CRS program manager of peace building and governance.
He told SCR News that the training aims at helping strengthen the commissions and building their capacities to engage in mediation with conflicting communities.
Mr. Purekal added that the participants will be able to train people from different organizations on how to reduce conflict especially during elections and post-elections time.
Participants will focus on how to analyze, mediate conflict and communicate properly while mediating conflict.
The training will provide knowledge on the election and polling process and how to continue to carry out training at their diocese levels.
The training is sponsored by the UNDP.
