Eastern Equatoria caretaker governor has pledged to set improving health services after a visit to Torit Civil Hospital and to the Ministry of Health in a fact finding mission.
Johnson Juma Okot told Radio Emmanuel that he called the council of minister to discuss the way forward for improving health services.
Mr. Okot explained that the cabinet meeting followed his visit to the ministry of health and Torit Civil Hospital to assess the issues affecting the sector.
He said the tour enlightened him on the health service gaps.
Mr. Okot added that the sector demands an urgent government intervention in order to serve the population.
He said better services are a must since the community uses health provision as a parameter to evaluate the performance of the government.
Before the arrival of the caretaker governor, health staff at Torit Civil hospital did not know when they would receive the next consignment of drugs for this year.
