GoSS Minister for Information and Broadcasting has pledged equal timeslot for all political parties to express their views on the public media.
The promise comes after several complaints from political parties that South Sudan TV and radio deny them access to air their programmes and views.Addressing participants at the Second State’s Ministerial Coordinating Workshop, Paul Mayom Akec said complaints have reached his desk that political parties are not allocated air time in the government controlled media.
He added that all parties have the same rights to access public TV and radio.
Mr. Mayom told the press that some political parties complain without going to the relevant authority to express what they want.
Mr. Mayom called on private media houses to allocate air time for all political parties to express their views.
He encouraged the media to play positive roles in the coming elections and contribute to a just and peaceful south Sudan.
