The Southern Sudan Democratic Forum (SSDF) has prioritized women leadership in its 2010 manifesto promising a 35 percent for them if voted into power.

Women in southern Sudan under the SPLM party have a 25 percent share in the leadership system.

SSDF President Martin Elia Lomuro told SCR News that his party will take an affirmative action to ensure that women are fully involved in decision making.

Dr. Lomuro added that his party will work for its people to regain confidence in their ability to rule themselves.

He added that his party will defend citizens against corruption to ensure timely payment of salaries.

Dr Lomuro noted that SSDF will build a professional army, and police and prison services to enforce the rule of law.

The party is campaigning under the theme of “Real change for our people”.
